PayPal index:
Maybe in 2005 I opened a PayPal account. I thought at that time it would be handy as I saw these PayPal buttons popping up all over the place. My worry with anything related to my finances is how reliable is this service? Are they trustworthy and do they take care of my money, the little I have?
One measure is the easiness to forge a fake password with an existing username or login-name. This is something I do no test and probably even cannot test. Until I had to change my email address last year due to spam (not the meat product). As I had not used PayPal I had forgotten or lost my password. So I have to login into PayPal with my existing old email and what I think is my password. No luck.
But then I got a super good idea. I register again. But what is this now? My creditcard number is linked to my old email and I either have to change my credit card or my email. My credit card I certainly am not going to change and my email I cannot change. I cannot login in you see.
What do I hear? Write an email or fill in the web forms? Yes, good idea. But how many times shall I write before I should expect an answer? 1 Time would be enough I suppose, but no. After 4 times I gave up. Phone call perhaps? Well you see, that is going to cost me money and my experience with the service at PayPal has not been good till far. Remember the 4 unanswered emails?
Today a miracle has happened. I could actually purchase what I think is a very handy product called Appzapper and I, believe it or not, used PayPal. So something does work at their side. I used my current email address plus my credit card. Aha I think, now I can also buy the book I wanted to buy for a long time. Mary's site uses PayPal and this time it must work.
No, it doesn't. I get first a nearly blank page which reads "click here to retry". Very encouraging. I retry but in the end the same message: either change my credit card or my email address...
